So you want to know about the top Melina fansite’s history? Let’s start at the beginning…

The site opened its doors officially on February 24th 2007 as the wonderfully named “MelinaPerezFanSite” on the equally awesome Piczo (ends sarcasm here). I changed the name to “Melina-Unlimited” about a month later whilst brainstorming ideas. It got really popular, garnering about 30000+ hits between February and August. I considered shutting down in August after getting denied many new hosting opportunities, then the amazing Kristine helped me get hosting on The Fan Sites Network. On September 19th 2007, M-U reopened on melina.fan-sites.org! Then on October 1st, the site got a domain (you may have heard of it…melina-unlimited.net)! Since then, M-U has grown to become one of the most popular Melina sites on the web today, garnering (at the very least) 20000 hits a month, with popular days getting over 1000! In late July 2009, Melina-Unlimited combined sites with PremierMelina.Net to being you the uber site to Melina! As of August 2009, we are the official website for Melina, and have been talking to her constantly via her Twitter and email since!

Why Open?!
I got a lot of inspiration to open the site from Chris at PremierMelina- I’ve known him for about 2 years now, and he has always been so supportive in helping me learn about websites. And he can create a mean layout, so I thought it would be cool to try it out for myself. That’s why I am beyond flattered that Chris has merged sites with us!

Also, I’ve been a BIG Melina fan since 2004- I literally followed her career from OVW to today, where she has become such an inspiration to fans that aren’t just me! She oozes confidence even though people think she’s shy, and I really don’t think I could have picked a better subject for my first site aka MY BABY!
