Yesterday morning, I got a massive shock when I saw that our very own Melina sent me an email message after following us on Twitter! I’m still amazed she did, but here is what she sent me, and I’m posting on here for all to see:

Is that your name? Tell me more about yourself and your site. Thank you for running it. How long has it been up? It’s been a long time right? Your are such a sweetheart and I wish I could hug you right now. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your support. I am very thankful for it.

If you didn’t just go AWWWW at how sweet this message is, then…erm..I have nothing else to say! I’m hoping that I can stay in contact with Melina through this way, but I want to take this time to thank her for the lovely email. Hopefully this won’t be the last time I’ll be talking to Melina personally.

Inspired by WWE’s Women’s History Month, I’m going to start up a new one month only feature where you can pick the ULTIMATE Melina match! I’ve shortlisted 10 matches from the past 3 years since MU’s inception, and you can pick your favourites. From that, the top 5 will go forward to a voting panel with the VIPS of Melina World Order (if you haven’t already, join!), and they will help put the matches in order of significance. So now to the voting- the poll is here below, and you can vote once a day out of the 10 chosen by me:

Now think back to last August (if you can’t click here). Remember us telling you about a Melina fan with a dream who’s made her way to WWE? Well here is the follow up post nearly 8 months on, and it’s good news- she is currently Queen of FCW (basically Women’s Champion), and is rumoured to be called up something in the next few months! She has made quite the impact, being dubbed a Pocket Rocket with her high flying arsenal. Everyone on Melina-Unlimited (and its forums) is proud of April accomplishing her dream and who knows? She may get to fight her idol Melina one day.

Today is February 24th, which means one thing (well 2 if you count my sister’s birthday)- the birth of the site you are on right now, Melina-Unlimited! Three years ago to the day (I KNOW!), I opened up a little known Melina site on Piczo- MelinaPerezFanSite anyone?- and I worked hard to grow it into the site you see today, which at its peak, reaches nearly 50,000 viewers a MONTH! I’m not going to do a long list because today is about thanking YOU for making this site so great to work on, and over the next few days, I have treats lined up for you all to enjoy.

You may have heard me say on Twitter that nothing could’ve topped last year, and that was because WWE decided to give us our very own present (I’m guessing it was unintentional, but the timing was eerily accurate!) in the form of a new photoshoot entitled Master Melina. For good times sake, you can view the shoot and the proof we really did get this shoot on our 2nd birthday!

Now I know you Melina fans love to read up on her past life as an indy wrestler and a model, and you’ve seen the vast array of knowledge I possess about our A List Diva. Do you know anyone else that knows that Melina auditioned for Pop Stars 2 back in 2001? Well now I’ll let you in on my secret as I have got Melina’s FULL modelling resume on the site! I figured I’d do a small update known as “News for the Day”, where I quickly round up what’s happening in regards to Melina rather than doing an update for each one. So here’s today’s round-up:

1) Melina is NOT in Iraq as far as we know. Usually, they take over 6 Divas, and we just saw that Melina wasn’t with her man John Morrison in a photo taken by Chris Jericho. The 6 Divas who are currently touring in Iraq are Eve, Nikki, Brie, Kelly, Layla & Alicia Fox. So we can now assume nothing much will happen as far as the Divas are concerned at the actual show.

2) The 2009 Slammys are coming up, and Diva of the Year seems to be within Melina’s grasp! Last year, she merely presented the award to her foe, Beth Phoenix, but we’re thinking she’ll be a nominee, and we’re praying that she wins it! It’s either her or McCool over on Smackdown or Maryse (I seriously think she’ll be nominated over Beth)- take your pick, Melina fans!

Seen as it’s now become a regular here on MU, I made a logo for the latest (and future) editions of Smacktalk, where valid opinions are questioned. Now I got 2 main topics on hand this week: Survivor Series and the return of Maryse.

Captain on Paper, Not in Action
We all saw on Survivor Series that Melina led the way for a pretty great win over her long-term rival, Michelle McCool. It was controversial with Melina fans that our girl wasn’t the team captain of Team Mickie, as it was assumed that it would a Team Champ vs Team Champ shindig at Survivor Series. But Mickie was outshone by Melina who got the win! We’re seeing that we could have Mickie vs Melina in the future. Yes it was just a small thing, but think of it this way- Mickie needs a new character, Melina is at the top of her game as she got the wins in BOTH matches this week where she teamed with Mickie, so who knows?! Psycho Mickie may return for WM26…

Who Can Hair-Flip Best?!
We can only bring this question up because of the return of the Posing in the Ring Queen, Maryse! If you didn’t see or hear what happened, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! In probably the worst kept Diva return secret in WWE history (worse than Melina last year!), Maryse came out as…a turkey. Of all the things to come out as, WWE picks the Gobbledy Gooker. Nice job there, that’s making it SUCH A BIG SECRET! Hell, Maryse even spoiled it herself on Twitter (the curses of Twitter continues). As I said, it was too obviously Maryse- a run-in attack would have been so much better than Maryse doing the chicken dance to entertain the PG Kiddies of the WWE Universe! The only saviour was that Melina looked STUNNING in her Thanksgiving outfit (MELANIE LITTLE DEAR RETURNS FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!), but what the hell was up with Kelly’s pink trainers?! Not really native indian, more native Nikey!

Back on topic, we all know Melina can hair flip best because her hair is lush! We gotta campaign for her to model with L’Oreal or something! But unlike Maryse, Melina will actually wrestle her way through a match, not pose every 2 seconds!

I’m back with another edition of Smacktalk, the only Melina fansite that gives you the chance to have your say on particular topics of interest! Seen as it is Survivor Series week, I figured that I could propose to you Melina fans the ULTIMATE dream team for Melina at Survivor Series. I’ve included TNA Knockouts into the fray just to add variety.

Due to the lack of hype towards tonight’s Melina vs Alicia Divas Title confrontation, MU is doing an exclusive preview of the match at MSG!

The Hype: Alicia wins a Battle Royal to become Number 1 Contender to Melina’s Divas title. No match for Melina. Alicia wins against Kelly Kelly twice. No match for Melina. Instead, we get Melina watching backstage at her rival, with no interaction between the pair, but in the DX Invasion Tour, Alicia & Melina had some fiery bouts, whether it’s tag or singles action.

The Prediction: Despite people thinking that Alicia has all the momentum, that hasn’t stopped our girl in the past. We’re thinking Melina will win, but not without a fight on her hands.
