Despite the wonderful gift of hindsight, WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross, was asked about Melina’s return. Here is what he had to say:

Will Melina ever return to in ring action? Sources say she’s just about ready to return, but the exact date is unknown to me. Love her ring entrance and her toughness. She was a proud champion.

WWE management has been tossing around the idea of reforming the M’N'M tag team on the RAW brand in the coming weeks, most likely following the Money in the Bank pay-per-view according to WrestlingProNews.com. The idea behind the reformation of one of the most famous tag teams of the 21st century would be to rekindle the company’s tag team division, which as of the last few years has been suffering.

Depending on the outcome of this Sunday’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view, in which The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith) will defend their WWE Unified Tag Team Championship Titles against The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), will determine whether or not Mercury, Morrison, and Melina will be heel or face; because it’s strongly anticipated that they will go after the new champions.

Another report has come out, which addresses our idea of Melina reuniting with JoMo to take on Ted DiBiase & Maryse:

WWE has also been thinking about doing John Morrison vs. Ted DiBiase, with Melina reuniting with Morrison to even up the odds since DiBiase has Maryse now.

So Melina tweeted last night that she did an interview with Between The Ropes, and I have now got a full recap of what was said! If you would like to download the audio yourself (which I suggest you do), click here!. Melina talks about FCW, her MNM gimmick, and her opinion of the current FCW Divas! - Melina is asked if she will compete in the bikini contest. She says she has brought a bikini, but has also brought ring gear. She’s thinking about calling out a challenge, and wants them to step up. She states that she feels good and wants to see what the FCW Divas can bring to the table.

- Brian asks about the rehab. Melina says it’s been really tough, and she got worried that she wasn’t getting better quick enough. They did wrestling therapy so she could feel OK about doing her signature wrestling moves. She first felt awkward, but then she saw the results.

- Melina is then asked about the difference of what she should do and what she did. She responds by saying its hard to gauge. Her doctor said that if her heart & body don’t feel comfortable doing something, she shouldn’t do it, but it was more of a fear. She had WWE doctors, and that her ACL healed perfectly. When she wakes up, she needs to warm up more than before, as she has less strength in her injured knee than in her other knee. She says she still has a bit to go, but when she was in the ring today, she felt good.

- Brian asks how it felt not being able to go out in front of an audience. She says she’s chomping at the bit, and that she’s worked so hard, that it would be a waste to throw it all away. she has 7 months of aggression to take out on doing something she loves so much. She talks about her rep because of a heel character, but that’s nothing like her- she just puts her heart into everything so that the fans can react and get into it. She wants to teach the FCW to fulfil their potential. Melina says that when the day comes that she can’t wrestle anymore, she wants people to have the same passion she has so that women’s wrestling can continue.

- She is asked about her heel character, and says it gave her a bad reputation. She says that you can never please everybody, and says that people don’t like her because of her MNM character. Whether they love or hate her, they can’t help but talk about her. She’s happy no matter what.

- MNM is brought up, and the shrieking! Melina loved the MNM stuff and the scream was all apart of the character. When she watches it back, she admits she doesn’t realise she screams so much! She apologises, and she laughs about it herself. It’s natural to her because her family used to cheer that loudly at baseball games. Brian asks if anyone has come up to her and said that they are deaf in one of their ears. She says a lot of people have come up to her and said they have heard her at the back of the arena. She says she has a competition to see if she has out-scream herself. Brian says it must come naturally- Melina thinks it was a mix of nature and playing up her character. She says that if anyone heard her mom laugh, they know that she gets it naturally. PJ is mentioned- if she was across the baseball park, she could hear her mom cheering on PJ HAHAHAHA!

- Flexibility is the next topic. He says fans were worried that she wouldn’t be able to do the infamous split leg entrance, but Melina reassures him and her fans that she can! She’s worried about the jump into it, but the flexibility is there. When she did the entrance at her FCW training, she felt like she was back**

- Wrestling is brought up. Brian asks when her last wrestling match was. Melina says December, and that the FCW Divas were asking her about it. She says that when she got back in the ring last night, the girls were looking at her crazily thinking “the last time she was in the ring was 7 months ago?!” Brian asks about her thoughts on the current talent in FCW. She says that she loves the atmosphere they bring- they are all supportive of one another, they joke around like it is a family environment. She hopes they never change, and that they are always eager to do stuff- she sees that they can become phenomenal wrestlers. Melina wants to ensure that they stay hungry for success, but praises them. She mentions Liviana, Aksana & Naomi Night as stand-outs, but says she is impressed with all of them.

- The topic of mens wrestling against women’s wrestling is brought up. Brian asks if it is more limited and if competition is more fierce. Melina says that without the other person, she’s nothing, as she is only as good as her opponent. If they’re not at her level, her job is to bring them to her level because she knows what they are capable of. People can get competitive to get TV time in such a little capacity. She says there aren’t as many girls as there once was, but there isn’t enough time to show them all. Melina says whilst it is competitive, they gotta come in to show what they can offer.

- Brian asks about Melina’s unique moveset, and if she has come up with some new moves. She says she WILL have some new tricks up her sleeve, but she has so many ideas it’s hard to narrow it down.

- To round up, FCW is once again brought up. She says she WILL wrestle at the shows!

13 days until the Summer of Melina- I for one cannot wait for it!

After posting last night about Melina’s return in FCW, the Diva sent along this message about whether or not she’ll be wrestling.

I really don’t know when I’m coming back or to what show. The company scheduled me for mid July. Kinda scary bcuz it’s not quite my clearance date. I know I will be ok but I need to feel safe. I wish I had just a week or so to gain confidence in my movement and strength. I still can’t straighten my leg all the way. We shall see.

I speak for every Melina fan when I say that she should focus on getting 100% better, as we have grown to become quite patient when it comes to waiting! We wish her well as she comes nearer the end of her agonising injury!

While on twitter a few nights ago, I decided to send Chille and Natalya a tweet and ask their opinions on our favorite WWE Diva and they had this to say.

Natalya: ‘Melina is awesome!!!!! Flying spider monkey:)’

And then when I asked Chille if she and Melina were friends she had this to say:

Chille: ‘no but i’ve met her…seems really cool.”

It’s nice to get feedback from stars on Melina. It just goes to show what a wonderful person she is. I won’t lie, I LOVED Natties reply. It was funny and true.

You were heavily involved in the previous generation of Divas, and then you were still around for the newer stars such as Mickie James & Melina. Who were some of the women you thought had a lot of progress?
Melina reminded me of myself because she started as a valet, which gave her the time to develop her character and transition to wrestling. When I saw Melina debut with MNM, I remember thinking that was the new T&A. But she was much sexier than me, when she came in with that split! I was like “Damn, that is hot!”
From T&A to MNM- they didn’t go far did they?
I’ve been waiting for Melina to develop, and I have no doubt that she will- but she’s had back luck along the way. Just as her momentum gets going, injuries take her out. She’s called me for advice and visited me in Toronto a couple of times, and we’ve done yoga together. If you’ve noticed, she’s integrated the Ma-Trish – my back-bridge ducking maneuver- into her repertoire. I derived that from my yoga.

As Robbie said in a previous update, it’s great to here comments from Trish praising Melina. It is sad to say it’s true when Trish said when Melina gains momentum, she gets injured, but the A List Diva will be back soon kicking butt!
